Winston & Jennifer Get [Married]

Winston & Jennifer’s wedding was a great way to get warmed up into wedding season.  After taking 4 months off to be with my son, I knew that shooting this laid back, country affair would be just what I needed to get my engine started again.

Winston and Jennifer met at Western Carolina. They had both seen each other around the dorm, but never really paid any mind to one another.  One night, while Jennifer was doing her RA duties, they struck up a conversation and Winston invited her to come hang out when she got off duty.  Not knowing what was ahead of her, she politely gave in; and from there a friendship was formed. Within a month or so they were dating.

When Winston proposed he took her to the top of a mountain he had been wanting to show her for months. It was beautiful, you could see the WCU campus and for miles around.
He asked her, ” Do you love me?”
“Of course I do!”
“Do you want to spend forever with me?”
Then he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife!
And of course she said “yes”!

The day was full of their closest friends & family.  All set in the historic, rustic outdoor Bennett Bunn Plantation; which was a perfect backdrop for Jennifer and Winston’s personalities.  Hope you enjoy!

Tim & Lauren Get [Married]

From the get go I loved Lauren and Tim.  Her inquiry was so perky and matter a fact… and the ensuing phone consult was even better!  And when we finally met  they booked on the spot!

The beginning of their romance was a whirlwind… no sooner had they met then he called, no sooner had he called then they had dinner, no sooner they had dinner than they were off to Charleston… What!?

Three years later on July 4th weekend, Tim took Lauren back to Charleston.  He had made some special arrangements at the very same restaurant where they had been 3 years ago.  They watched the fireworks off the battery, and then he took her back to the spot where they had spent the night talking for hours over a bottle of red wine.  He didn’t get down on one knee, but he proposed atop the John C. Calhoun monument… just as original as these two are.  Lauren told me that she pretty much knew Tim was it for her right from the start, and after seeing the way these two love and care for each other it’s obvious their love and passion will last a lifetime.

I felt so honored to be a part of this small, intimate wedding as well as the reception the following weekend.  This wedding was definitely a perfect mix of who Tim & Lauren are and what they value… Love.

Check out more of these two in the current issue of Carolina Bride!

Gardner & Angela Get [Married]

From the first time I met Gardner and Angela I absolutely loved them!  I don’t know why I seem to attract the “laid back” couples, but oh my lord were these guys fun to photograph!

Gardner and Angela had one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever seen.  It wasn’t the location or the decor that made it amazing, it was the weaving of their faiths and the regard they have for their fellow man.  Angela is Jewish and Gardner is Baptist… the wedding was complete with a Ketubah, rabbi, baptist minister and of course no Jewish wedding day would be complete without… the Hora!  The two instant best friends said their vows, exchanged rings, had an irish blessing read, signed their Ketubah, kissed, and smashed the glass.  It was the perfect wedding ceremony full of love, with an overarching theme of acceptance and warmth.  I will never, ever forget this day.

Huge thanks to Mark Santo for shooting this with me!

I was so honored when Charlotte Wedding picked their wedding to feature!  You can see it on news stands now!
